Weekly Releases: Jay Prince, PARTYNEXTDOOR, Sinead Harnett, MoStack & BLESSED

If we had to describe this week’s releases, it’d be vibey – because each of the following projects are ideal for the warmer days to come. From Jay Prince’s dazzling Late Summers and PARTYNEXTDOOR’s surprise released Colours 2 EP to Sinead Harnett’s emphatic return in Chapter One, MoStack’s sharp High Street Kid tape and BLESSED’s impressive Love Letters EP, you’re in a for a vibey ride!

There’s just something ruthlessly infectious and crisp about London rapper Jay Prince’s flow and delivery. Each and every line that he lays down cuts through as clean as the last and that’s exactly the case with the ten jams that make up his Late Summers project which dropped this past week. With a host of collaborators including Axlfolie, Aminé, Fabienne, Mahalia, Avelino and Shakka who features on stand-out “Mandem”, Late Summers is a celebratory effort which sees the Londoner shine brighter than ever.

The first line that you hear Toronto crooner PARTYNEXTDOOR sing in his surprise-released Colours 2 EP “All I wanna do is lay up with you all day” beautifully sets the tone for the record. Following up last year’s P3 and serving as the second instalment to 2014’s Colours EP, the four track project which was created over the course of five days is pure vibes as PND’s gentle musings traipse across the twinkling, slo-jam soundscapes.

It’s been a long time coming, but we finally have a full length project from London songstress Sinead Harnett to tuck into. Having already provided her gorgeous voice to tracks by the likes of Disclosure, Wiley and Ryan Hemsworth, Sinead Harnett takes centre stage with the blissful and utterly enchanting Chapter One. The eight track tape features previously heard and opening cut “Still Miss You” along with a vibey collaboration with Kaytranada and Wretch 32 called “Heal You”. To say that the wait was worth it is an understatement – Chapter One is magnificent!

Having announced the release of his new mixtape early last month, London based rapper MoStack has officially dropped the spectacular High Street Kid for us all to devour. Boasting ten brilliant new tracks including the previously heard “Ussy Ussy” and “Screw & Brew”, the project features contributions from the likes of Mist, J Hus, Krept and more. Packed with jams that are perfect for the summer, High Street Kid is a record you definitely won’t want to miss!

The debut EP from Sydney based artist BLESSED is a gift that keeps on giving as each of the five tracks are absolute gems. A perfect blend of sparkling R&B interspersed with bright pop moments with sprinklings of alternative elements, Love Letters is a wonderful introduction BLESSED’s artistry. With a vocal that transcends the customary silky smooth and seductive tones, BLESSED’s raw and gritty intonations are a breath of fresh air against the equally anthemic backdrops.
