With stellar artists carving the way, such as Krisy who recently performed for us, it’s become the region-to-watch for those constantly searching for the latest creative fix. As a new generation of artists are set to grace the horizon, here’s our selection of the freshest Belgian sounds, curtesy of Hamza, Abrahamblue and Damso! ABRAHAMBLUE
The delicate, melodic magic of this Antwerp-based vocalist is hard to resist.
He paints deep blues and greys in lovers., laying intentionally simple lyrics over the smoothest of beats, while juswannaknow is a hazy, tessellating affair; singing ‘I’m feeling like I’m in a dream’, he’s produced an ethereal ambience that allows you to drift with him.
His two freestyle tracks, lets escape. and goodvibe., are no less captivating and exhibit even more stylistic creativity. While he’s described these releases as ‘rough sketches’, there’s no question that they are the initial workings of a highly promising artist – he’s one to watch!

For this Brussels-based rapper and self-proclaimed ‘Sauce God’, originality is key!
His first major project, Santa Sauce, features 12 tracks that blend an eclectic range of European influences with archetypal Atlantan baselines.
On Habibi, he layers samples of traditional instrumentals, while upping the tempo with viscous flow and demonstrating his ability to evolve familiar beats into an inventively composite sound – check it out here!

Damso, another Brussels resident, has been noted for spearheading the latest revival of Belgian rap, providing a slick flow, heady trap beats and exciting collaborations with the likes of Krisy and Booba. His debut album Batterie faibie, a succession of fiery and smooth sounds, was certified gold within a few months of its release. Amnésie, the records most popular track, provides a slick noir production which compliments the poignant lyrical artistry, centring upon the death of a lover – check it out below! While his flow is impressive, Damso’s ability to elevate his sound with evocative lyrical content is what sets him apart and will no doubt fuel his continuing ascent!
